ASSESSMENT & DIAGNOSIS

Dr. Billy Friedrich, LCMHC

Workshop Description: This 90-minute workshop will address assessment & diagnosis for mental health professionals. Workshop attendees will learn about current assessment approaches, to include structured assessments & semi-structured assessments to assist with diagnosis. Common diagnosis based on the DSM5 will be reviewed. Attendees will receive supplemental resources to aid in assessment & diagnosis.

**All workshops are hosted via Zoom and are 90 minutes.

Continuing Education: All workshops count for 1.5 CE credits for Texas LPC and LMFT.

Presenter Bio: Dr. Billy Friedrich is an Associate Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He completed his Ph.D. at North Carolina State University and his dissertation focused on how death and dying impacts both the personal and professional lives of professional counselors. Within the doctoral program, his cognate focus in counseling was international comparative counseling practices. Prior to his current faculty position, Dr. Friedrich was the director of school counseling, a clinical supervisor and assistant professor at Rhode Island College in Providence, Rhode Island. He has several years experience as a school counselor, and has been a licensed clinical mental health counselor for over ten years. He has worked with a wide variety of clients professionally.  He has experience teaching a wide variety of graduate courses in clinical mental health counseling and has also taught undergraduate students in the area of Educational Psychology.
